For an indoor sauna, measure the room and check the ceiling, doors and nearby surfaces. For an outdoor sauna, look at the ground, drainage, weather, privacy and the path from your home. Think about whether you want a shower or cold plunge nearby.
2. Check how the sauna will get there
Measure doorways, stairs and tight turns between the delivery point and the sauna location. A few photos can help us understand the space. These details matter before the factory makes your sauna.
3. Choose the warmth and layout
Traditional heaters and infrared saunas feel different. Think about the warmth you enjoy, how many people will use the sauna and how you want the benches arranged. A custom design can be sized for your home. A qualified professional should check electrical needs and any wood-burning requirements.
4. Plan for care and cleaning
Ask how to care for the wood, keep the area clean and manage water. An indoor sauna and an outdoor sauna have different needs. The plan should fit the place where yours will go.
5. Check local rules and site work
